Amusement park Rotterdam: what Spelen bij Beelen is, and is not
Spelen bij Beelen is not a classic amusement park or theme park. There are no roller coasters, carousels or electric machines deciding what happens. There is no loud music and as few flashing lights as possible.
What you do get is a play park for children aged 0 to 12 where they get moving themselves. They climb, scramble, build, run, roller skate and drive around. The park opened in the summer of 2026 at ZUIDYARD, on the Maashaven in Rotterdam-Zuid, and keeps growing.

What is there to do in the play park?
Instead of rides you sit in, there are play areas where children get going themselves. Open now:
- The outdoor playground with a rope bridge, swings and a slide tower
- The big sandpit (covered)
- Verkeersstad Harvey (covered) and Frenky's pedal cars
- A small traffic park for children aged 0 to 4
- The roller skating rink (covered), with free skates to borrow from size 32
- Trampolines

What is coming next?
Frenky World, a new indoor play world above the sandpit, is expected to open in mid-October 2026. Children can climb, scramble and explore there.
The second outdoor phase is planned for March 2027. The plans include a play greenhouse, a play farm, an extra play square and a highline.
